Drury Inn & Suites Opens Snazzy New Contemporary Location in Brentwood

Brentwood, MO, (SLFP.com), September 18, 2014 - In the hotel industry, it's all about customer loyalty, service and location. Three elements, the Missouri-based Drury Hotels family has achieved overwhelmingly, according to Drury's ninth consecutive J.D. Power win for Highest Guest Satisfaction.
"We've opened four hotels within the last sixty days," stated Joe Pereles, vice president and general counsel of Drury Hotels, during his opening remarks at a special ribbon cutting and dedication to mark the grand opening of its new 210-room Drury Inn & Suites Hotel in Brentwood, Missouri.
The company recently opened a property in Mount Vernon, IL, Denver, CO at the old Stapelton Airport grounds and Santa Fe, NM. Pereles stated that Drury has new hotel projects under construction or soon to start in Tempe, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Carmelle, IN, Burlington, NC, Louisville, KY, Cleveland, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, Grand Rapids, MI, and Frisco, TX.
The first Drury Hotel opened in 1973, in Sikeston, Missouri, 1973. From that humble beginning to the very contemporary location in Brentwood, Pereles stated that the company continues to remain family owned and operated.
Larry Hasselfeld, senior vice president and CFO of Drury Development, acknowledged that building the new hotel was a very challenging project due to the utilities at the site, topography, adjacent creek, highway maintenance facility onsite and existing older office and retail buildings.
"We felt the key location near I-64 and I-170 and the recent redevelopment accomplished in Brentwood made it ideal for another Drury property," explained Hasselfeld. Drury was selected by Brentwood to develop the project after responding to the RFP in 2008 and proceeded on construction on their twenty-sixth hotel in St. Louis during some of the worst economic times seen in the past thirty years.
Brentwood Mayor Pat Kelly received a loud applause from Drury officials, hotel staff, and local business and community leaders. He acknowledged that this hotel was the culmination of a vision of the City of Brentwood that started in 1994 with the Promenade. "It took the committment of the board of aldermen and elected officials over the years to have this great development on the corner of Brentwood," Kelly said.
In his remarks, Nelson Bay, general manager of Drury Brentwood, noted that when Drury started over forty years ago with a small, exterior corridor hotel, with posted room rates of $10.88 a night. "Our rates might be a little bit higher," he smiled, as the audience laughed.
He enthusiastically stated that the beautiful contemporary hotel features 210 guests rooms, two ballrooms, flexible meeting space and great amenities including an indoor/outdoor pool, 24-hour business and fitness centers. Guests will continue to enjoy Drury's free wireless Internet, free long distance, free hot breakfast, free Kickback® evening reception with hot food and refreshments - all supporting the company's tagline, The Extras Aren't Extra!®.
