Westport Plaza Area Residence Inn Rated "Green" in Quality
ST. LOUIS, MO (HOTELS-STL.com), September 8, 2009 - The Residence Inn® by Marriott® St. Louis-Westport hotel located at 1881 Craigshire Road, in St. Louis, Missouri turned 25 years old on August 25, 2009, but their guests would never know it. The 127-suite hotel recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation and ranks at the top of their class for both service and quality. The hotel is owned and operated by Buffalo Lodging Associates, LLC.
The Westport Plaza area Residence Inn is currently ranked number one for service against all the other Residence Inns in the St. Louis market. Nationwide, the staff has achieved some of the highest service scores, and as a result, they are rated a "green" in quality, which is the highest Marriott rating. Over the last three months, the greater St. Louis hotel market has been down 10.5% in occupancy, but Residence Inn St. Louis-Westport is ahead by 9.4%. Their average occupancy rate over the last 12 months is 66% compared to an average occupancy of 56% for the 320 hotels in the market.
In a statement, General Manager, Mark Stevens, said "I am very proud of my entire team. They truly care about each and every guest. Their actions and our guest scores prove it. Buffalo Lodging Associates is the best management company that I have worked for in my 20-plus years of hotel management. Support from our ownership group, Benderson Development, has also provided me with the funds needed to invest in the property, which has resulted in us reaching some of the highest service and quality ratings within the Marriott brand."
The hotel would be unrecognizable from how it looked when it was purchased by Buffalo Lodging Associates from Marriott International in 2000. It went through a full renovation last year. Major highlights include new carpeting in the guest suites and public areas; and updated lighting, countertops and furnishings, including bedding and décor, in every suite. A complete remodel of the Gatehouse and lobby area is scheduled for this winter. The new Marriott design elements will be incorporated into the areas as well as in the hotel's library and Hearth Room. Additionally, an outdoor fire pit and seating area is also planned. Subsequent upgrades and renovations will be made to ensure the hotel maintains its high standards of quality and guest service.
Features and amenities of Residence Inn St. Louis-Westport include the brand's complimentary HomeTouchSM hot breakfast each morning in the Gatehouse, complimentary high-speed Internet access in all suites, complimentary weekday evening hospitality hour Monday through Thursday featuring light dinner fare and beverages, and a complimentary weekly barbeque in the summer months.
