FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL (HOTELS-STL.com), May 24, 2009 - A new 88 room Holiday Inn in Fairview Heights, IL is expected to open in Summer 2009. The property is 12 miles east of downtown St. Louis and just minutes from Scott Air Force Base.

"We look forward to welcoming this property to the Holiday Inn family of hotels. Holiday Inn hotels are specifically designed for business and family oriented leisure travelers in need of a full-service lodging experience, and this property fits well within that offering," said John Merkin, senior vice president, Brand Management, Holiday Inn Brands, The Americas. "Development in Fairview Heights is key in expanding our Holiday Inn consumer base and growing an even stronger presence across the Americas."

The new 66,000 sq.-ft. hotel boasts the newest Holiday Inn prototype and modern relaxing décor throughout the lobby and guestrooms. Accommodations feature plush triple sheeting, queen or king-sized beds, a sitting area with a lounge chair and ottoman, 32" flat screen HD TV with cable and movie channels, microwave, refrigerator, hairdryer, coffee maker, iron and ironing board.

For the business traveler, guestrooms provide a work desk and ergonomic chair, data ports, complimentary USA Today newspapers, and in-room check-out capabilities. Complimentary high speed Internet access is also available. The new hotel will feature meeting space to accommodate up to 225 people.

"We're investing $6 million plus to build this property and look forward to the end result," said Cat Phillips, General Manager.

"Fairview Heights is a well-traveled market for both business and tourism and a perfect fit for the Holiday Inn product. We look forward to bringing the first all new Holiday Inn prototype to the St. Louis area and the first Holiday Inn worldwide that is incorporating the newest color scheme for our restaurant and bar area featuring beautiful shades of browns and blues. We are excited to offer numerous job opportunities, creating a family culture and offering a new level of Guest Service," stated Phillips.

Doubletree Westport Joins AmerenUE's Pure Power Program
Doubletree St. Louis at Westport Joins AmerenUE's Pure Power Program
ST. LOUIS, MO (HOTELS-STL.com), May 17, 2009 - The Doubletree Hotel at Westport has agreed to support the development of new renewable energy sources via the purchase of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) through the Pure Power program. The Doubletree at Westport is the first hotel in the AmerenUE territory to make such a commitment.

Doubletree's commitment to this voluntary program will help prevent approximately 345 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2), a leading greenhouse gas, from entering the atmosphere each year. This is equal to the CO2 reduction provided by taking 63 cars off the road for a year.

Pure Power is UE's voluntary renewable energy program and the U.S. Department of Energy's 2008 New Green Power Program of the Year Award Winner. It gives residential customers the option to add an extra 1.5 cents/kilowatt-hour to their monthly bills, offsetting 100 percent of their energy usage with clean, renewable energy. Commercial and industrial customers, like Doubletree, participate by buying "blocks" of Pure Power, paying an additional $15 a month for each 1,000 kilowatt hours used. This block option is also available to residential customers. Pure Power funds are used to purchase Renewable Energy Certificates from Green-e Energy-certified wind farms and other types of renewable energy projects.

Doubletree St. Louis at Westport's purchase of 240 blocks of Pure Power annually makes it a UE Pure Power Leader--a designation reserved for companies, governments or other large users of electricity who agree offset at least 3 percent of their energy usage through Pure Power purchases.

Robert O'Loughlin, Chairman and CEO of Lodging Hospitality Management- owners and operators of the Doubletree St. Louis at Westport stated, "LHM is proud to share our commitment to the environment with all our conference attendees and host. We make this choice not only to reduce harmful air emissions that lead to global warming, but also to encourage further development of renewable resources."
