New Hotels Open at Lumiere Place
ST. LOUIS (HOTELS-STL.com), February 17, 2008 - Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has opened its 75th property, Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis, located on the banks of the Mississippi at the centre of one of the Midwest's most vibrant lifestyle and entertainment developments.
The 200-room Hotel is part of Lumiere Place on Laclede's Landing, a $507 million revitalization project including an upscale casino, restaurants, and retail. Rising 19-stories, the Hotel's defining feature is a ribbon of light (650-ft) wrapping the edges of the building. The 500,000 LED lights can produce 16 million shades and a wide array of patterns that continuously refreshes the overall appearance of the Hotel.
The Hotel also includes the Italian restaurant, Cielo.
Formerly the Embassy Suites, HoteLumiére was completely remodeled and has 295 guest suites. Each suite includes signature pillow-top mattresses, Italian duvets, Egyptian cotton sheets, plasma-screen TVs, iPod docking stations and a high-speed Wi-Fi network. Amenities of the hotel include a waterfall, skywalk across North Second Street connecting the hotel to the casino, 24-hour business center, concierge and valet service, and more than 8,000 square feet of meeting and convention space.
HoteLumiére also includes Cascade, a lobby bar and a new Italian restaurant, House of Savoy, which is scheduled to open in March.
Chartres Lodging Group Completes Purchase of Adam's Mark Hotels
ST. LOUIS (BUSINESS WIRE), February 17, 2008 - The Chartres Lodging Group, LLC, has completed its purchase of the 4,867-room Adam's Mark hotel portfolio from HBE Corp., of St. Louis, and has announced renovation, rebranding and repositioning plans for the five properties included in the transaction.
"Chartres Lodging was afforded the unique opportunity to acquire large, convention-oriented hotels in the heart of five premier leisure and convention visitor markets offering extraordinary growth potential," explained Maki Nakamura Bara, Chartres Lodging co-founder and managing partner. "Given the cost and scarcity of comparable downtown development projects, we jumped at the chance to strengthen the strong hospitality legacy originally developed in these markets by HBE owner Fred Kummer."
Plans call for Chartres Lodging to spend more than $238 million to renovate, rebrand and reposition the five properties over the next 18 months, including the Adam's Mark St. Louis. A planned $63-million renovation will reposition the 910-room property into the Hyatt Regency St. Louis Riverfront, the second Hyatt Regency hotel in the market. Hyatt assumes management of the property now as an Adam's Mark until the rebranding in Spring 2008.
